PROJECTS

BRASS & ORGAN (2011/2012)

The year 2011 saw the start of an on-going project with organist Dr. Peter Siepmann, who is Director of Music at St. Peter's Church in Nottingham.  The programme of music created featured items such as 'Concerto for Organ' Op.2 No.4 (Handel), 'Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring' (Bach) and 'Canzona Primi Toni' (Gabrieli).

This is an active project - for concert bookings please contact us.

BRASS & PERCUSSION (2013)

In 2013 the ensemble was part of an exciting new collaboration with Nottingham-based percussionist Helen Shelton and made many appearances around the region. The idea behind this project was to show how versatile brass and percussion instruments can be and to demonstrate just how much musical colour can be created when high-quality musical arrangements are produced.

Last year Essentially Brass started working with local actor Jonathan Youl and together performed 'Letters from the Front' - a piece of theatre about the happenings of WWI, which includes music, poems and other text.
